Philipp Loses in Rome Qualifying

Philipp missed out on a place in the main draw of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia after losing in the first round of qualifying on Saturday.
Philipp made a weak start against No. 8 seed Ivo Karlovic of Croatia, losing the first set 6-0. The second set, however, was a close battle, with no service breaks. Unfortunately, it was the Croat who came on top in the tie-break, taking it 7-3.
